Birth Note:    Anderson and Glover give her middle name as "Meriwether"; Davis says
"F." She was the daughter of attorney Benjamin Brown and Sarah E. W.
Lewis (who was dau. of Col. Charles Lewis who d. 1779). She was also
a sister of of an eminent lawyer in Amherst Co. Susannah was said to
be the aunt of A. B. Peticolas.

Rucker (daughter of Benjamin Rucker), John's second wife. John's
first wife was Margaret Rucker, the daughter of Col. Ambrose Rucker,
who was the son of Capt. John Rucker who d.1743 and Mary Tinsley.
Some of this information is said to be from the McDaniel family Bible.

Death Note:    This needs verification, as an Elizabeth "Davis", age 80, is living
with Mary Frances Davies' family in Amherst 1 August 1870, and this is
probably her.
